DER MARKT
Hassloch is officially the most average place in Germany. Due to its social-, age- and infrastructure, the Society for Consumer Research »GfK« is using the township since 1985 as a real test laboratory for new consumer goods. Products as sweets, soft drinks or shower gels are tested there before the introduction into the whole German market.
Therefore the tested goods are stored in the local supermarkets for a while. In that time the test-households, which can participate voluntarily in this project, receiving especially for that study created print and TV advertisements.
With the help of data collection tools, the GfK determines and evaluate then informations about the influence of the new advertisings and the preferences of the consumers.
